Showcase Testimonials

Once you have approved some reviews, you can show them off. A Showcase is how you display your reviews to the world.

Two types of Showcase

When you click Create showcase on the Testimonials > Showcase page, you pick one of two types:

  • Wall of Love: a full grid of reviews you can drop anywhere on your site, or use as its own hosted page.
  • Widget: a single embeddable review, carousel, or badge, for a specific spot on your site.

Step 1: Design your showcase

The first time you open a new showcase, you go through a short design wizard.

  1. Template: pick a layout.Wall of Love layouts: Masonry, Grid, Carousel, List.Widget layouts: Single quote, Carousel, Rating Badge, Quote Grid, Avatars, Hero Quotes, Social Star, Company Logos, Avatars Grid, Masonry.
  2. Style: set your Background color, Text color, Accent color (used for stars and highlights), a Font, and upload a Logo.
  3. Testimonials: search your approved reviews and add the ones you want, or turn on Auto-add. Auto-add uses a minimum star rating (for example 4+ stars): any newly approved review that meets the bar is added automatically.
  4. Preview: a live preview. This is the exact same view your visitors will see once you publish.

After you finish the wizard, you can come back at any time and click Edit design to change any of these steps, or Add testimonials to manage which reviews are shown.

Step 2: Publish your showcase

Use the Draft/Published toggle at the top of the showcase page. Turning it off takes the public page or widget down immediately.

Step 3: Get your link or embed code

Go to the Overview tab.

For a Wall of Love, you get a Share link, a fully hosted public page at contendar.com/wall-of-love/{your-showcase}. This page has its own header showing your average star rating and total review count.

For a Widget, you get an Embed code to paste into your own website:

Paste this snippet into your site's HTML wherever you want the widget to appear.

Analytics

Your embedded widget sends back anonymous view and click counts by default, so you can see how it is performing on the Testimonials > Analytics page. No visitor data or cookies are collected. If you'd rather not track a specific showcase, turn Analytics off on its Settings tab.

Archive a showcase

Go to the Settings tab and use Archive showcase in the Danger zone. This removes it from your list. This cannot be undone.
