Connect Webhooks

Webhooks let you send testimonial events to another tool automatically. The most common use is Zapier, which can then forward the event to Slack, a CRM, a spreadsheet, or almost anywhere else.

Step 1: Create a Zap in Zapier

1. In Zapier, create a new Zap.
2. Choose the "Webhooks by Zapier" trigger.
3. Zapier gives you a webhook URL. Copy it.

Step 2: Add the webhook in Contendar

1. Go to Testimonials > Webhooks.
2. Click Add webhook.
3. Paste the URL from Zapier into the Webhook URL field.
4. Optionally, give it a Label so you can tell it apart from other webhooks, for example "Slack via Zapier".
5. Choose when it should fire:Notify on new submission: fires as soon as a review comes in.Notify on submission approved: fires when you approve a review.Both boxes are checked by default. Untick either one if you only want one type of notification.
6. Save.

Step 3: Finish the Zap in Zapier

Go back to Zapier and finish setting up what should happen when the webhook fires, for example, posting a message in Slack, or adding a row to a spreadsheet.

What happens next

Contendar sends a request to your webhook URL every time a matching event happens. Zapier receives it and runs the rest of your Zap.
