Import Testimonials

If you already have reviews on another site, or in another tool, you do not need to start over. The Import page brings them into Contendar so you can manage them all in one place.

Open Import

Go to Testimonials > Import. You will see four options.

Manual import

Use this to add a single review by hand.

1. Click Manual import.
2. Paste the review text.
3. Optionally add the customer's Name, Email, Company, and Job title.
4. Pick a Status (Pending, Approved, or Rejected). It defaults to Approved.
5. Save.

Import from web

Use this to pull reviews from a review site or social platform.

1. Click Import from web.
2. Pick the source from the icon grid, for example Google Reviews, Yelp, Facebook, G2, Capterra, LinkedIn, Instagram, and many more.
3. Paste the URL of the review page.
4. Optionally set a minimum star rating, so only reviews at or above that rating are pulled in.
5. Contendar reads the page and shows you a list of reviews it found. Pick the ones you want, then import them.

If your source is Instagram or TikTok, the review is imported as a video testimonial. You will be asked for the person's name and job title.

Trustpilot is different. Trustpilot blocks this kind of import. Instead, install the Contendar Chrome extension, open the Trustpilot page in your own browser, and use the extension's Testimonials tab to pull reviews from the page you are looking at.

Import from CSV

Use this to bring in many reviews at once from a spreadsheet.

1. Click CSV.
2. Click Download template to get a CSV file with the right column headers.
3. Fill in your reviews. Only the name and text columns are required, everything else is optional.
4. Upload your filled-in CSV.

The template columns match the export format used by Senja, so a Senja export can be uploaded without changing it. Rows that are missing a name or text are skipped, and you will see how many were skipped after the import finishes.

Migrate from Senja or Testimonial.to

Use this if your reviews are already collected in one of these tools.

1. Click Migrate.
2. Pick Senja or Testimonial.to.
3. Paste your public wall-of-love URL from that tool.
4. Contendar reads the page and shows you the reviews it found. Pick the ones you want, then import them.

After importing

Every imported review lands in Testimonials > Submissions, alongside the reviews you collect through your own forms. Review and approve them the same way.
